I have been trying to prepare myself for this week; getting all my house cleaning and laundry done so that I can spend time concentrating on ME. Trying to work up a meal plan (though I had a bit of a dent in my plan, my eldest daughter was sick this weekend, so I didn't get to make it to the store), so I am kind of winging it right now on my meals, but I will be more prepared for next week. The kids do have activities in the evenings a few nites this week, Girl Scouts (which we just began COOKIE sales - I mean REALLY??! That's a whole another blog), and one has cheer has well. BONUS: Cheer is at a local church that has a running track, and my son loves to run it with me!
I think my biggest challenge this week will be giving up my POP (Or as you east coasters call it 'soda'), I am addicted whether it be diet or not, and I have plenty of Tylenol on stock to help with my CAFFEINE HEADACHE! I do have quite a stock in Crystal Lite from my last diet campaign, so that should help a bit, but this is what I'm most worried about . Any tips that anyone has on resisting the urge, or getting over it PLEASE Share.
For breakfast: Yoplait Original Strawberry Yogurt (170 calories, 1.5 gram fat, 230 mg potassium, 33g carbs, 26 sugars - WOW 26 sugars really? 5g protein), 1 apple, 1/2 cup Cheerios , bottle of water
This is all for now, I will be back later with an update!
Lunch: buffalo chicken (lunch meat) on Italian bread (again- hadn't made it to the store yet), an apple. Lots of Crystal Lite =)
Dinner: blackened tilapia on a wheat tortilla with lettuce and salsa.
Did my 3 circuits of work outs - woo , I will admit that last one I wasn't sure if I was going to make it thru! My daughters' had a girl scout meeting, then we got home sometime after 8 and I had to get them all ready for bed, and finished my work out.., It was nearly 10 by the time I was done and I was soo ready for bed! Today I can feel it - Not a ton, but I def know I worked my muscles! Hope to get started earlier on my work out 2nite.!
Oh my - this sounds just like me. My daughter is also in girl scouts - cookies really?! Plus, the soda. I am a Mountain Dew Junkie but I am excited to see the pounds shed from shedding that. Excedrin is my best friend right now....
ReplyDeleteBusy busy. Yeo, Yoplait is horrible on sugar. Greek yogurt maybe next time?
ReplyDeleteYes Lisa, sounds like we have a lot of the same challenges. Would love to talk to you more, maybe we can help support each other since we have a lot of the same battles. I love Mt Dew AND Coke, so I'm hoping cold turkey works! LOL
ReplyDelete@ Lena yes, I just realized how AWFUL the Yoplait yogurt is on sugar - I always buy the box b/c my kids love it too, and never really payed attention to the sugar content. I'm not a huge fan of greek yogurt (maybe its an acquired taste?) I will be more careful, I plan a store visit sometime this week. Maybe I'll do whole wheat toast tomorrow instead.., and work my way up to greek yogurt =)
Yikes.. cookies.. while on a diet is hard.. for yogurt try dannon light and fit only 70 calories. and tasty yummy.. good luck on 2weekchallenge and mamavation application i too am in it. Have a great rest of the week.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Mamavation. If you haven't tried greek yogurt yet, I would recommend starting with the pineapple. Also, make sure to check the back because not all brands have the same ingredients.
ReplyDeleteSo, us Texans call it Coke. Doesn't matter what "flavor" it is... it's always coke - "Wanna Coke? Sure - What flavor" I know... we're weird.
ReplyDeleteI use Tea to help counter the caffeine headaches. Some love it some hate it. PEach tea and Strawberry tea (all unsweetened of course) are my favorites and I get mine from @republicofTea so many fantastic flavors to choose from... if you like that sort of thing.
Regardless, the first few days will be the hardest. after that, your body will begin to CRAVE water. Seriously. Trust me - you can do this!
Giving up soda can be a really hard thing to tackle, but it can be done! I went from a 3-4 can/day habit to ZERO cold turkey. Now, it's been about two weeks since I've had a soda and there are a few things I have found helpful - Don't have it in the house! If I don't have it around, I can't drink it, right? Don't carry change around. Not only does that keep me from snacking from the vending machine at work, it keeps me buying soda in the machine as well. Lastly, drink water until you can't STAND the sight of liquid LOL
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
You can do it! Sounds like you're on a great path!
